Agama  sebagai  sistem  kepercayaan  dalam  kehidupan  umat  manusia  dapat  dikaji  melalui  berbagai  sudut  pandang.  Islam  sebagai  agama  yang  telah  berkembang  selama  empat  belas  abad  lebih  menyimpan  banyak  masalah  yang  perlu  diteliti,  baik  itu  menyangkut  ajaran  dan  pemikiran  keagamaan  maupun  realitas  sosial,  politik,  ekonomi  dan  budaya.
